Club Marine, Australia's leading boat insurance provider, has unveiled a new insurance policy tailored specifically for race boats during storage and transit.
This initiative aims to support participants in the Australian Offshore Superboat Championship by offering coverage for accidental loss, damage, theft, or malicious damage while the boats are on land and on their trailers.

Antony De Fina, Commodore of the Australian Offshore Powerboat Club (AOPC), expressed gratitude for Club Marine's commitment to the racing community. He highlighted the longstanding relationship between the AOPC and Club Marine, noting that this new insurance offering addresses a previously unmet need for race boat owners.

The policy also includes coverage of up to $2,000 for non-refundable race and tournament entry fees if a covered incident causes withdrawal from an event. This comprehensive approach provides financial relief to racers facing unforeseen circumstances.

Club Marine CEO Tim Wiles emphasized the company's dedication to supporting the sport and strengthening connections with boating enthusiasts across Australia. He noted that this partnership reflects Club Marine's commitment to the marine community and its ongoing efforts to provide tailored insurance solutions.

In addition to offering this new coverage, Club Marine's support extends to the AOPC's Shark Cat vessel, used during race day events. This collaboration underscores the company's broader commitment to the marine industry and its various facets.

De Fina acknowledged the challenges associated with racing, particularly the risks of damage during transit or theft of equipment. He expressed relief that this new insurance policy provides a safety net for competitors, allowing them to focus on their performance without added concerns.

The Australian Offshore Superboat Championship continues to grow, with record entries and enthusiastic crowd support. The introduction of this specialized insurance coverage by Club Marine is a significant milestone, enhancing the overall experience for participants and contributing to the sport's ongoing success.
