The Marina Industries Association (MIA) has unveiled the comprehensive program for Marinas26, its premier biennial conference and trade exhibition, scheduled for 24-27 May 2026 at the RACV Royal Pines Resort on Queensland’s Gold Coast.
This year’s theme, 'Future Smart,' aims to delve into the transformative trends and technologies poised to redefine the marina and boatyard sectors across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.

A highlight of the conference is the keynote address by business strategist Gihan Perera, titled 'AI Future in Marinas & Boatyards.' This session will explore the integration of artificial intelligence within marina operations, focusing on enhancing efficiency, customer service, and sustainability. The discussion is particularly relevant as the industry seeks innovative solutions to streamline processes and improve the boating experience.

Another focal point is the strategic development of superyacht infrastructure. With the Asia-Pacific region emerging as a significant hub for superyacht activity, Marinas26 will feature sessions dedicated to the planning and implementation of facilities tailored to accommodate these luxury vessels. Topics will include design considerations, regulatory compliance, and the economic impact of attracting superyachts to local marinas.

The conference will also address the critical issue of infrastructure renewal. As marinas age, the need for modernization becomes imperative to meet contemporary standards and expectations. Sessions will cover best practices in refurbishing existing facilities, incorporating sustainable materials, and leveraging technology to enhance operational capabilities.

Marinas26 is not only an opportunity for industry professionals to gain insights into emerging trends but also a platform for networking and collaboration. The event will commence with a Welcome Cocktail Party sponsored by Pelagic Risk Services, providing attendees with a chance to connect in a relaxed setting. The program includes two full days of conference sessions and a trade exhibition, culminating in a Gala Dinner. Additionally, a Study Tour on 27 May will offer participants firsthand exposure to innovative marina developments.

For those planning to attend the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS) prior to Marinas26, a shuttle service between the Royal Pines Resort and SCIBS will be available from 22 to 24 May, facilitating seamless participation in both events.

Early bird registration for Marinas26 is open until 16 March, offering discounted rates for early registrants. Given the high demand and limited exhibition space, interested parties are encouraged to secure their spots promptly to ensure participation in this pivotal industry event.
